Lucknow:  The Unnao rape victim, who was injured in a road crash, has developed pneumonia and remains in a critical condition, doctors attending to her at a hospital here said on Saturday. The 19-year-old is still on life support but her lawyer, who too was injured when their car was hit by a truck in Rae Bareli district on July 27, is breathing without ventilator, King George’s Medical University Trauma Centre incharge Sandeep Tiwari told PTI. Because of pneumonia, she has fever and is also being given medication to control her blood pressure, Tiwari said. She is being given oxygen through a tube inserted in the windpipe. Her condition is stable but not out of danger, he said. The lawyer has suffered injuries in his head and cannot be described as out of danger, Tiwari said, adding KGMU is fully equipped to provide best treatment to the two patients. Biker killed as Baljit Singh Kumbra’s SUV overturned and landed on him; Kumbra’s wife, a Mohali councillor, and driver also injured Baljit Singh Kumbra, 65, the Mohali urban president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), and a motorcyclist were killed after the former’s SUV overturned due to a tyre burst in Lalru on the Chandigarh -Ambala highway on Thursday. Kumbra’s wife Rajinder Kaur, 64, a municipal councillor in Mohali’s ward number 46, and their driver Tarsem Singh, 53, were injured in the accident. The couple lived in Sector 69, Mohali. Gaurav Bhatia has resigned as Sotheby’s India MD, nearly a month after he went on a “leave of absence” following allegations of sexual misconduct, the auction house said on Saturday. Bhatia, who was the South Asia operations head and the “driving force” behind “Boundless: India”, Sotheby’s maiden auction in the country, put in his papers on December 20, 2018. “Sotheby’s Managing Director of India, Gaurav Bhatia, resigned on December 20th, 2018 after two years with the company, during which time he launched the inaugural Mumbai auction. We appreciate and thank him for his service,” the auction house told PTI.
